I've been meaning to bring this up for about two years now, but has anyone else noticed all the references to U2 in the third season of the SOPRANOS.

I haven't watched them since they first aired, but I remember when I watched it at the time, I noticed LOADS of references.

Three in particular were

- Mysterious Ways Solar Plexus remix playing in the background at the bada bing nightclub.
- One of the episodes was called FORTUNATE SON
- And Tony's girlfriend is called GLORIA

There were loads of others, far too many to be a coincidence.
Think there was a salome reference as well

also Little Steven is on it, who once opened for U2 on the JT tour

I've never seen The Sopranos except when they have it on free preview weekends or something, but I know he's on it

"Fortunate Son" is a Creedence Clearwater Revival song, and the U2 cover is virtually unknown.

"Gloria" is a Van Morrison song (originally recorded by his band at the time, Them) and one of the most covered songs ever. Compared to it, the U2 song of the same name is also virtually unknown.

And Bono has compared being in a band to being in the mafia (you're in for life). Woo, I'm getting chills.
