Songs that are better as songs

Some song lyrics sound better in the song than as poetry by themselves. It just doesn't work for some songs. Like The Grateful Dead's "Ripple," where it says "Let there be songs to fill the air," something like that SHOULD be set to music.

And lyrics should never, ever be quoted in normal speech. Bono did it once in an interview. He quoted lyrics from Sunday Bloody Sunday and they only work in the song or written down.
