Just had to reply about Nick Drake. :) If you like river man (ok, this sounds like a chessey commerical or something, but seriously) you should check out some of his other stuff too, it's amazing. 'Which Will' is my favorite.

glad to hear :) ...Satellite has one of my favourite guitar lines that you probably noticed yourself..in all honesty I have yet to investigate further into his releases..I really should :| ..I've always loved this song

River Man just has one of the most hypnotic and honest string arrangements that you will find...I would recommend giving his first album Five Leaves Left a try if you like the direction that River Man heads towards

Dream On ~ Aerosmith
Fruit Tree ~ Nick Drake
Like A Hurricane ~ Neil Young

alternative ulster--stiff little fingers
and
roots, radicals, rockers, reggae--stiff little fingers

Depeche Mode, Personal Jesus. I don't know why, I hardly have paid any attention to Depeche Mode, but I heard this song recently and remembered how good it was.

currently it is:

doves: rise, here is come (currently stuck in my head) and the cedar room

coldplay: moses (if ya haven't heard it yet...ya have to)

the verve: sonnet

Presently:

AFI - Any song from Sing the Sorrow
Sigur Ros - Anything
Covenant - Call the Ships to Port

I am still obsessing over David Gray (1 year plus later...) and just saw him in concert, which makes it worse.
Plus, anything by Something Corporate!
