so i was off to watch this short film collection thing at the film festival. about forty minutes in they began to play a film that weirdly enough, was upside down. we were all thinking that there must be some kind of artistic notion to it.


turns out the projectionist had cocked up.

messed up, he placed the film wrongly.

I'm still laughing.

there was another one that was intentionally supposed to be a blank screen with just sound and I thought the fella was screwing up again.

Here in New Mexico the projectionists seem to be teenage stoners. Someone usually has to get up and tell them to start the film, and then again to tell them that it's blurry, and then once more to try to get them to make the film fit the screen.

Needless to say, this fries my little New York mind, where all hell would break loose if a film started a minute late, let alone the rest. You don't mess with New Yorkers and their movies
