I have to say - I am a huge fan of graffitti. It is not that I like the fact that it defaces, public, or even private property, but I love the way it looks.

I think that there are so many talented artists out there, but I think one genre that was always overlooked (of course due to the defacing thing) were graffitti artists.

I am a very big fan of Keith Haring, Kenny Scharf and that whole class, but it is even the rawer artists that I truly admire.

think about what goes into a piece:

1. limited time
2. use of spray can
3. limited resources (it is truly hard to by spray paint in bulk)

Here are some interesting links if anyone is interested. The top two are graffitti oriented, and ther rest are kind of anti-establishment links. Check them out - some are pretty interesting...

I  Keith Haring! I have some of his pictures on my walls. I love that U2 used some of his art for PopMart.

Oooh, Vondelpark. :) I was there two years ago (I fell twice rollerblading :D). Too bad I didn't see the graffitti you're talking about.
