Here are some photos I took when I went to the planetarium I volunteer on the first Friday night of every month. They have public telescope observing as well on the first Friday of every month.

I took these photos the same way I took the Mars photo (in the Mars 2003 thread) that some of you may have seen. I just pointed my digital camera thru the telescope! I'm really amazed at how well these photos are turning out! :hyper:

Here's a couple photos of the moon:

and here's a loverly double star called Alberio. It's located in the constellation Cygnus the Swan (which is in the Summer Triangle). It really is a pretty little thing to look at thru telescopes...this photo doesn't do it justice tho. It's rather colorful too...a yellow and blue star.

the moon is playing tricks again...it keeps me awake on this part of it's cycle...that's OK. I love moonlit nights. I realise the night of my son's party here, it is the night of no moon, which is a bummer. I am going to have to put A LOT of candles in the garden so people don't go falling down steps and terraces or into ponds, it's a bit of an obstacle course here. Total firebans began yesterday and he was hoping to have a BIG bonfire. That is now out of the question.
It a wondrous thing isn't it ABEL, hard to believe it is just a lump of dusty rock, illuminated by the sun...shessh that sun is one powerful object:heart: Great photos:up:
PS: 200 people turned up at our local Astronomy Club's "Mars" night:up:I still recall the night my mother first pointed out "the saucepan" (orion) to me...wondrous:) and my sister setting up a camp to watch some early morning event..meteor shower probably...long time ago now, very influential.

 Wow ABEL those are amazing! I had no idea a picture could be taken like that! Very good and the moon looks so mysterious!
