So this is christmas

And what have you done

Another year over

And a new one just begun

And so this is Xmas

I hope you have fun
The near and the dear one
The old and the young
A very Merry Xmas

And a happy New Year

Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear
And so this is Xmas
For weak and for strong
For rich and the poor ones
The world is so wrong
And so happy Xmas
For black and for white
For yellow and red ones
Let's stop all the fight
A very Merry Xmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear
And so this is Xmas
And what have we done
Another year over
A new one just begun
And so happy Xmas
We hope you have fun
The near and the dear one
The old and the young
A very Merry Xmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear
War is over, if you want it
War is over now
Happy Xmas

don't act like you didn't know it was around the corner

a message to all those experiencing joy this time of the year
remember the feeling
remember how it feels to be on top of things
sure, there'll always be things you wish were different
but if you can honestly tell yourself that you're happy
then hold onto that for as long as possible
and enjoy it for those who aren't
...
as happy

you're one of the lucky ones
the world shines bright on you
while others may be left in the shadows
don't worry about them
cause this holiday season
it's about you
it's about taking full advantage of feeling
jubilant
seriously

so this christmas
what will you do
before the year's over
and the new one begins?

take stock of what's making you happy
if not for yourself
then for those who can't say
they're alright

i wish i knew how to tell you
but i dont

just be thankful this christmas
if you're happy and you know it
don't ever forget how it feels
and how grateful you should be
to be in the middle of the best time of the year
with a state of the mind
fit only for heads in the clouds

i don't know if you have any idea

Album Version On:
THESE ARE SPECIAL TIMES

Original Version By:
John Lennon & Yoko Ono

Rare Duet Version With:
Gloria Estefan & Charlotte Church

Duet Version Shown On:
AND SO THIS IS CHRISTMAS (1999)

Track Length:
4'13"

Please next time put John Lennons name next to the song. Or that you used some of his lyrics.

riiite, totally pointless thread, and if your going to choose a decent xmas song i would of gone something more lively and more relevence to U2, like erm,

SO TONIGHT THAT GOD ITS THEM, INSTEAD OF YOOOUU!

lol, just so Justin doesnt do it i will

Lyrics taken from "Do They Know It's Christmas Time"
performed by Band Aid in 1984
Released as a single in 1984
Performed Live at Live Aid in 1985
Lyric Used was sung by Bono of U2
Also featured on "The Best Christmas Album in the World...Ever!"
Band Aid consisted of many bands and artists such as U2, Banarama,Ultravox, Phil Collins etc. Organised by Sir Bob Geldof, ex-singer of the Boomtown Rats. Also known for organising such events as Live Aid and Live 8. He doesnt see anything as a "fucking joke" as long as you "give him the fucking money"

Also Justin, "So this is xmas" track is also featured on the album i mentioned.

you mean bear didn't really write those those lyrics?

you mean they're hactually written by someone that everyone in the entire goddamn world knows???

you mean someone dared to write something that didn't reference u2 on this hallowed forum??

well, way to go, justin and prideofwhatever. christmas is ruined!!!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

well said, bear.

only very recently, and after having taken matters into my own hands, have i reached a place where i can say i've a modicum of optimism and, dare i say it, happiness.

i'll certainly treasure it only because the memory of the bad place i've come out of is still pretty fresh.

take care, bear.

(and well said, eva!)

I didn't ruin shit. All I am saying is you could put the author of the song. So quit whinning.

Would you like someone to post something that might be your but not give credit??

Merry CHRISTMAS!!!

get a grip, justin.

your premise that bear would try and pass off one of the most famous songs in the world as his own is laughable.

seriously. calm down.

I'm posting from the bar. All around me, people are having their Christmas party. They're all yelling and jubilant and excited. I'm on my own but that's ok, I'll be going home for Christmas, as the song goes. Treasure your family this Christmas, guys.

Merry Christmas!

Watcha drinking? Where's home?

Thanks for the kind words zoomers.

Did you know it's Christmastime in Hollis, Queens and my momma's cookin' up some collared greens?

Merry Christmas!
Thanks, Mr. UberBeaver, same to you.

Watcha drinking?
I'm drinking a glass of Rosemount Shiraz at the moment but I am seriously considering switching over to a sidecar, although that will break my rule of not mixing types of alcohol. Rules were meant to be broken, however.

Where's home?
Home is Tacoma, Washington. I am living in Jacksonville, Oregon at the moment.

wow

thanks eva and hitman for saving this thread.

justin, you're ridiculous. absolutely ridiculous. please leave this thread alone. no arguements, just... auch. don't.

to the rest of you, many thanks. much appreciated.

happy christmas
