wow!!

this is heavy
intense
In a way, it's hard to imagine a better album being released this year. Yet, somehow, I think, it's flying below the radar.

this, the last album that will have any connection to the beach boys and brian wilson

Here we have all the glorious banality of the beach boys,
but this is also decidedly epic and much more grandois.
and darker
The backing vocals are so overwhelming...sometimes it makes me want to cower in the corner.

I was never one of those Beach Boys/Brian WIlson geeks, trying to piece together the tracklisting of smile.
I have only heard the original boots once, and I can't remember what they sounded like.
I heard this album more or less lives up to its potential. I'm gonna have to find them now in order to make a better comparison...can anyone help?

anyway, I think it may deserve the 'best of the year' title, by merit alone.

surfs up

yes, perhaps

perhaps

then again....I don't watch TV, listen to the radio, or socialize

so...

Thought about picking it up. Still haven't. Was disappointed that Circuit City didn't sell it cheap like they normally do new releases. :madspit:
