Early start for you considering you were up late with everyone else last night.

I think I'm going to start sampling their stuff and see how I like it, starting with the albums that Steven Wilson produced. I figure I gotta like some stuff from that, even if I'm not into death metal.

Beyond the obvious nomination of the non-metal Damnation album, I recommend starting with Bleak from Blackwater Park. Not only is it the song that got me into Opeth, but it's the song that got me into death metal full stop. It starts out as straight-up death metal with the growls and everything, but then it has these great clean vocal harmonies between Akerfeldt and Wilson. Bleak remains in my Opeth top three, along with The Apostle In Triumph from Orchid and The Moor from Still Life.

An excursion is being run tomorrow and I, of course, find myself with the uncontrollable need to photograph the bloody thing.

Mine could get down into the mid 40's, no lower I think. As I said last night, the drug shit is of course never going to happen....so that leaves a few other things that I'll not exactly be aiming for, but, you never know.

I don't judge that shit.....people do what they do, or did what they did, and if it's not harming others, so be it....but for me, drugs were just never something I cared to try. I did my fair share of getting drunk, and that was enough for me. I don't even drink anymore, ever. I'm the most boring dork you'll ever meet. Not a bad purity score for a dork, though!
