Gotta love VH-1 Classic, you flip it on and never know what bit of brilliance you're going to be treated to. Today, it was the video for Slaughter's "Fly to the Angels." It has been absolute years since I last heard the song but somehow I still knew all the words. I loved all those bands when I was in junior high and the beginnings of high school--Warrant, Poison, Nelson, Trixter. It was fun and, despite a lot of the decadence and depravity, kind of innocent. The music was made to be light, not to really solve any of the world's problems. There's something so great about that, about music that instantly makes you smile, speed up, scream at the top of your lungs and twirl your hair.

So anyone else out there have a hard rock past (or, as my college friend called it, "butt rock")?

I have a serious heavy metal past dear!
I saw Iron Maiden in concert 3 times!
I was just listening to them in my car today...
Jack Black reminds me of Iron Maiden tunes. the way he does his songs...its so funny
I listened to Warrant for a bit.
they had that one power ballad , I forget what it was about.
I hated Poison , they were such posers.
but i liked Motley Crue .....lets see
Guns and roses were cool for a bit.
Listened to Yngwie Malmsteen alot...and thats sorta weird.
liked Rainbow, DIO- which both had ronnie james dio for a singer.
Judas Priest
Led Zeppelin ofcourse...Bad Company was one of my faves but they were really that heavy metal
I cant think of any more.

shit you said "poppy "metal...

nevermind
