Surely I'm not the only one at interference who adores the incomparable Simon and Garfunkel. And I'm not afraid to admit that I'm still mad they broke up, even though the breakup happened before I was born.

So let's hear it. Your favorite lyrics, favorite songs, comments on Art's afro. This thread is for all things SandG!

<-----fears that no one will respond.

Awwww. Of course I would respond, luv.
I remember sitting in the back seat...a little wee one....not being able to see to the front of the car....well...not a problem...had the radio to comfort me...I always loved this one when it came on:
Cecilia, you're breaking my heart
You're shaking my confidence daily
Oh, Cecilia, I'm down on my knees
I'm begging you please, to come home

Cecilia, you're breaking my heart
You're shaking my confidence daily
Oh, Cecilia, I'm down on my knees
I'm begging you please, to come home
Come on home

Making love in the afternoon
With Cecilia up in my bedroom
I got up to wash my face
When I come back to bed
Someone's taken my place

Cecilia, you're breaking my heart
You're shaking my confidence daily
Whoa, Cecilia, I'm down on my knees
I'm begging you please, to come home
Come on home

Jubilation, she loves me again
I fall on the floor and I'm laughing
Jubilation, she loves me again
I fall on the floor and I'm laughing

I LOVE S&G. My mom has had me listening to them since before I was born, and I'll be listening to them until I die  I love all their songs and they're definitely in my top 5 list of the best artists of all time. Art's son is so cute.. he looked just like him last time I saw him

I love this old pic.

Art's voice is pure heaven. The harmony...to die for. The lyrics are some of the best ever, ever, ever.

Simon and Garfunkel rule! The first time I ever heard them was when I was 11 or 12 and they were on TV - I think it was Saturday Night Live. I believe they were playing "Scarborough Fair" and I thought it was the most beautiful, amazing thing ever. We also sang "Bridge Over Troubled Water" in choir in junior high. It wasn't until years later that I bought one of their albums (The Concert from Central Park).

Favorite songs:
Scarborough Fair
Bridge Over Troubled Water
The Sound of Silence
Hazy Shade of Winter
I Am A Rock

yes I do love S&G- they are beautiful, I got a copy of Paul Simon's 2cd 'Anthology' for chirstmas back in 94 from my Dad and it is one of my all time fave cds, I probably like Paul Simon's solo work just a little more than the stuff with Art, but nonetheless the duet work is still superb, Sound of silence is an absolute classic and one of my all time faves would have to Be 'El condor pasa':)

Ooh, yes! I love "El condor pasa" as well!

My favorites:

The Sound of Silence (and the people bowed and prayed / to the neon god they made) Lyrics don't get much better than the ones in that song!

El condor pasa (yeah, I know, I just said that) :coocoo:

Slip Sliding Away

The Boxer (especially the extra verse from "Live in Central Park"

I'll be back with pictures of Art and little Art later...

Any other SandG people out there?
