sigur and ros appreciation thread

what a great, great band.

on cbc radio one, one of the guys said sonically they are and i quote "the new beatles."

that is quite the statement, yes?

lets bask in their brilliance in this thread, shall we?

whats your favorite song by them?

I've only heard two - Svefn-g-englar and Olsen Olsen, and I like the latter better. The first time I heard the horns and the choir voices I was blown away. Haven't heard it since though - I'm still listening to the Manics. Sigh, I'll make up for my musical folly by repeating Olsen Olsen over and over.

I can never remember track names. It seems to me that I really liked most everything off of the fetus album with the name I can't spell. And I adore ().

AB is a far better album in my opinion

( ) is awesome and I LOVE #3 and 4 and 5 and 7 and 1 most of all

but it's more formulated and cliche than AB

Birgessons "hopelandish" language is a bit on the excessive side as well. There's only so much I want to hear "You xylo fi. so lo"

I still need to buy AB. I love the entire () album. It is pure genius.

I cant say enough times how this concert was the best show i've seen all year if not EVER. I thank Kirk, Gina, Sula and of course, you bear for this masterpiece I now own and cherish.
