I liked the New Pornographers enough once to listen to their first album, solely on the strength of Neko Case being prominent on a few songs. Then I realised her involvement was... peripheral? And kind of lost interest in them.

'Star Witness' would have to be one of her standout solo songs for me. Of course I'm basing that on being familiar with exactly one of her albums.

Star Witness is by far the best thing she ever recorded, and better than anything I've heard from New Pornographers as well.
