 Thank you! Even though you've announced my housekeeping secret to the world! It's true, there are no 2-legged children in our house, but the 3 little 4-legged ones of the Canine variety make plenty of messes - just none you can see in the one corner of the house where my Christmas tree is!

Actually, if you look carefully, there are two stockings hanging from the mantel. I moved the one on the right while I was decorating the tree because it kept getting in my way. I didn't remember to move it back to its own hook until I uploaded these pics & saw both stockings hanging on one end of the mantel! oofus:

So here's a re-take, with both stockings where they belong!

I know. Some of those huge red things are cardinals. You can see one a short distance below the star at the top.

Me: Mom, why did you put cardinals in the tree?
Mom: Why not?

Sums it up, really.

According to our tradition, we are decorating our tree on December, 24. My father cuts the tree off one or two days before Christmas and it stays out on the balcony to remain fresh until the 24th. I usually travel home one day before Christmas and spend most of the day decorating the tree. We don't have much other decoration, except some candles and a nativity scene that my brother made out of wood when he was still in school.

I'll try to take a picture later. But our tree is over 11 feet tall and I'm not sure how to fit it in the frame....
