After listening to some of GG's guitar work, I've become a bit of a fan, and I think there are more like me!

I think she should come out with a CD of her U2 stuff. It would be perfect for playing in the car on a road trip, when you want to put the pedal to the metal.

All those in favor, vote above.

Yes. I just download the recording of Discotheque from her journal. Absolutely awesome, and the effects are nailed so well too

Yes I would but only if it's cheap.

(I mean I'd buy her CD) :|

I jest.:shh:

Who would like there to be an Interference Music Festival?

With all the talent here it would be great.

You guys are too kind! I'll take all the money you'll give me, as I'm trying to save up for a real bass and a real drum kit... Just kidding. Wow, I can't believe some of you guys actually like my stuff! It's just a hobby of mine that's been going on for about 3-4 years now. I first started recording in 2001, and on Windows Sound Recorder no less. I don't know about an actual CD, but you never know, if the whole university thing doesn't work out... ;)

For Zootlesque or anyone else who's interested:

Until The End Of The World (Live Version) - http://s56.you sendit.com/d.aspx?id=1O4SKV90849SO13O80A5SBD6K6
Bullet The Blue Sky (Live Version - Elevation/ZooTV) - http://s56.you sendit.com/d.aspx?id=1MQ1WFIO42TAK1K1O0PNYUONYO
New Year's Day (Live Version) - http://s56.you sendit.com/d.aspx?id=1ZHAX569LAXVM10AM5AIOM8770

Those recordings above were made by me playing along to backing tracks found at the Tripod U2 backing track site. So I must give credit to the awesome drum and bass recorded by the guy who did the tracks. The bass and drums on the next few were done by me (I should stick with backing tracks  )

Discotheque - http://s56.you sendit.com/d.aspx?id=1QNFIUT96KJ371OCJL4AR4XUCM
Vertigo - http://s56.you sendit.com/d.aspx?id=2M7GNWIV88G2O0WBUGEFZLZP0G

And these next ones are kind of funny. I recorded them in December 2002 / January 2003 after getting a copy Explorer for Christmas. I wasn't all that good at the guitar back then, and it shows. :lmao:

I would! There are some brilliant musicians around here. The guys in the cover bands as well as the individuals who just play for fun. Even Better Than The Real Thing is the best section of this forum!

Holy shit GG that's awesome  We are kindrid spirits in pursuit of U2 perfection. Ever since I got a entry level effects unit (100 bucks) last year, my Fender Stratocaster and I have been pursuing the Edge's tones. Fantastic job, love all the tracks.

I'd love to try and add some vocals :eyebrow:

EDIT: And ditto to the Interference music festival idea  I'd be glad to try and contribute some tracks.

Hmm, if someone is good with drum programming, we could easily do an Interference collaboration on Mofo (Phunk Force Remix) or In A Little While.....

There's bound to be some one who can help you out.

Amen to that, we could have a virtual acoustic tent and a pyramid stage like at "Glasto".

In A Little While? :yuck: How about a collaboration on Dirty Day (Bitter Kiss Remix) Seriously, it'd be awesome. I could probably pull off the cello part on my violin provided that I de-tune it a bit :hmm:

Oh. My. God.... GibsonGirl!!!!You are a guitar goddess!

Yes, I'm serious. That UTEOTW performance sounded like The Edge himself! :combust:

Gibby, I always knew you could play but had never heard your stuff before. It's excellent!!!:applaud:

Amazing playing. You have such a distinctive voice too in Wake Up Dead Man. I say use it more. As well, your speaking voice is so beautiful! I like it a lot. If you don't want to sing, you could at least intro every song and explain the recording process. It would be like the classical music shows here on CBC radio. :D

Go for it, that would be awesome! Kind of like having an online U2 cover band.

And wow, thank you guys so much for the kind comments. I don't know what to say! I'm very flattered. Really, I'm hardly worth the praise - there are plenty of guitarists here who are better at performing U2 songs than me. They just need to record more! ;)

I'm not too fond of my voice (I think I sound like a frog) but I do quite enjoy singing when it's just me who hears it. I find it a little scary/embarrassing when I put my singing out there, so I can't really guarantee any vocals. Back up vocals are fine, but the prospect of having others hear me doing lead sometimes gives me the heebie jeebies. Hahaha, but maybe introducing each song is a possibility!

Once again, thank you guys so much.

You guys should hear GibsonGirl's voice when she scolds you for showing her pictures of spiders

I still haven't forgiven you for that one.
