All good choices. I second Electrolite, a gorgeous and almost unknown song.
But, really, Fall on Me takes the cake. Two minutes of jangly pop bliss, with one of those wonderful circular REM tunes that could go on forever. This song could have been recorded in 1965, or yesterday: it's that timeless.
Well, I dunno if it's their best, but a favourite of mine is "She Just Wants To Be" and "I've Been High". I'll probably get flamed for this, but I much prefer the newer REM stuff. Also love "E-Bow The Letter".
Anyone recommend I buy "Up"? I have everything from "Out Of Time" and onwards except for "Up"... Hmmm Recommendations?
(I had nooooooo clue how many albums REM have... 9 releases prior to 'Out of Time'!!
. They surpass U2!!)

Ava, I got Up. And I really like it. A lot of fans dont, they tend to say its not what they were hoping for and its a different sound blah blah. With REM I think thats a little unfair. They keep this REM thing through all the albums but they still do something different with each one. I think it bombed when it was released, but if you really do like them, get it, or DL a few songs and then decide.
Thx Angela, I think I will buy it. To me, different is good. That's what has always attracted me to REM. Every album of theirs that I have, has it's own unique sound. I'd say 'Reveal' is my favourite REM album, hands down.
Everyone hates a sad professor.
I hate where I wound up.
You, I thought I knew you.
You I cannot judge.
You, I thought you knew me,
this one laughing quietly underneath my breath. Nightswimming.

Hey love, look into your glovebox heart.
What is there for me inside? This love is tired.
I've changed the locks. Have I misplaced you?
Have we lost our minds?
Will this never end?
It could depend on your take.
