They're very cake-like, not chewy or brittle in the least.

I only have one crappy pic taken with my old crappy camera (I'll have to make a batch again soon in order to get a better photo) :

Recipe:
Quote:
1 (18.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix
2 eggs
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
1/4 cup water
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 375 degrees and grease a 13x9 inch cake pan. Mix all the ingredients except the chocolate chips and beat with a mixer for 2 minutes or until smooth. Stir in the chocolate chips. (I didn't measure mine exactly, I just eyeballed it until it looked like the right consistancy.) Spread into the cake pan and bake for 20-25 minutes, until lightly browned on top. Remove from heat and cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Cut into bars and remove from pan. Eat one straight from the pan while it's hot and goooey mmm.
The addition of a half a cup of chopped nuts is optional to the recipe (I never add nuts), also for extra yumminess, you can drizzle some melted chocolate across the top as soon as they come out of the oven.

That's what I'm here for, to spread the joy of homemade desserts wherever I go.

Though I'm not sure what on earth "1 (18.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix" is meant to be or what the Aussie equivalent would be.

Measurement discrepancies aside, do they sell pre-packaged cake mixes in New Zealand? If so, the equivalent of 18.25 ounces is probably the standard size.

Of course we don't have ounces, we use metric. Grams and kilograms, man.

But it wasn't that, I'm wondering what the fuck yellow cake is.

I thought I knew all the stuff we had different in units. Guess not.

I don't actually know what yellow cake is either, I've always just taken for granted that it was there. It's just a sugary cake.

Do you know anything? At all? And don't say "I know that you're a douche bag" because all that will get you is an in-person demonstration of the true meaning of the word "pound", as I pound you into the Earth, never to be heard from again. Hope all is well.
