I can't really rank the songs on Born To Run - the whole thing is a classic from start to finish.

But if I was forced to take only one song, it would be Jungleland.

Night's a great track. It opened the show I saw in Philly, the first opener that wasn't Radio Nowhere.

By 'unnecessary', I don't mean to say its addition is wanky or anything like that. I mean that if you took it out, the song would be just as good, so why waste the time putting in something that does precisely nothing to enhance the song, and has the potential to become distracting.
There's a banjo one in the one of the songs from your last DI list. Really enjoyed hearing that.

Well, it comes down to your opinion of the instrument and its effectiveness in the song. I dig the sax and love hearing it in the right place, so yeah, I'm in favor of it being just about anywhere that works.

The guitar > sax comparison is like comparing a lion to a goat.

Sure the lion would pwn a goat in combat, but who doesn't love a goat?

Guitar is going to trump sax any time anyway.
It adds to the atmosphere. And you had plenty of guitar throughout the song already - the sax brings a nice change of pace to the end. It's most definitely needed.

It is just an opinion thing. For example, death growls. Not only are they totally unnecessary, I can't think of an example of one being used in which it doesn't destroy a song. They're arguably the worst thing I've ever heard recorded in music, unless used in a satirical way (i.e.: Octavium).

Random post alert.

The Celtics are the first ever team to make it to the conference finals without winning a road game in the playoffs.

I think goats sound more interesting than saxophones

Fact: Death growls aren't a joke, Philly. Thousands of families suffer every year!

Not every night, but it makes frequent appearances.

Even rarer is when he does Meeting Across The River just before it. I was lucky to get that double shot once, and it was absolutely gorgeous.
