SEVEN-legged lamb!

From The Age:

A six-day-old lamb at a veterinary clinic on New Zealand's South Island bleated like any other newborn sheep. But this little lamb had seven legs.

Two of the extra legs hung uselessly behind the lamb's forelegs and it had three hind legs, one of them with two hoofs.

Farmer Dave Callaghan found the seven-legged lamb walking around in the paddock with its mother and normal twin sibling.

"I have never seen anything like that," he said.

But the lamb also was hermaphrodite and missing a portion of its bowel, meaning it was unable to pass feces, so it had to be put down.

As soon as I heard "seven legged lamb", I thought "yeah, it'll be in New Zealand".

I feel a new wave of sheep jokes coming from my Aussie friends now.

Ian McCulloch the U2 fan:
"Who buys U2 records anyway? It's just music for plumbers and bricklayers. Bono, what a slob. You'd think with all that climbing about he does, he'd look real fit and that. But he's real fat, y'know. Reminds me of a soddin' mountain goat."
"And as for Bono, he needs a colostomy bag for his mouth."

That's sad and disturbing, but also fascinating.

It's called polymelia and it is usually caused by an undeveloped conjoined twin.

that's so sad too that it had to be put down i mean i obviously understand why, but it's still sad...
