Last night I burned a mixture CD of their music , a "Best of IMHO" so I'll be listening to that a lot this week.

This year's album is called "Cocktail" I think the cover will be blue with a martini glass on it....reminds me of this place. It is being promoted at a series of "cocktail "parties
Y'all invited. ( if any Aussies are interested in a carreer in music the course is very comprehensive and they have just lowered the entrance criteria, although it is still very competiitve to gain a place. (A word, this may be the last couple of years it is a free course too, be quick)
I'll send you a copy of "the best of IMHO" if you like 'ness. They have to make film clips too...and some of them are hilarious and very clever." Computing Dating":lmao: I wish you could hear and see that one:lmao:

Van Morrison - piper at the gates of dawn

correct me if I am wrong Cass, but Piper at the gates of dawn is a very early Pink Floyd album- and great one too, I never knew that Van the man did an album of the same name????

I would love that Cass and the tafe course that your hub teaches does it have anything to do with music journalism at all or is it all practical based, at the moment (since being sacked) I have been using my spare time doing heaps of freelance writing- trying to get some more stuff published and my greatest area of expertise is music and I want to do some more studying- preferably at a Tafe so if I could find a course that involved writing and music, well this would so be my cup of tea.....but anyway here is my e-mail address vness60@hotmail.com- email me and I will give you my address:)

Hello,

This is going to be a thread I have to check (and update) regularly. :) I don't have many songs on heavy rotation (as I don't listen to MP3's most of the time). I also change the CD's in my car CD-player often (as I have a gazillion CD's and I want to listen to them all!). But anyway, here's my current selection (the changer can hold 6 CD's):

Bruce Springsteen - The Rising (just bought it yesterday!)
Radiohead - I Might Be Wrong (Live Recordings)
Spearhead - Stay Human
U2 - Pop :p
Dire Straits - Alchemy (Part One and Part Two)

C ya!

Marty

stone roses - "i am the resurrection"
808 state - "pacific state"
joy division - "love will tear us apart"
n.e.r.d - "things are getting better"
rjd2 - "rain"
...trail of dead - "how near how far"
liars - "grown men don't fall in the river, just like that"
hot hot heat - "have a nice sleep"
yeah yeah yeahs - "art star"
interpol - "pda"
"electrical storm"

Songs

-Every me every you - Placebo
-Better man - Pearl Jam

In current rotation on my six changer

Bright Eyes...Lifted
Tom Waits...Alice
Reindeer Section...Son of evil Reindeer
Sleater Kinney...One Beat
Kind of Like Spitting...Bridges Worth Burning

good thread idea!

1) electrical storm, any of the four versions i have.

2) clinic - walking with thee

3) radiohead - up on the ladder, 2+2=5, my iron lung, i might be wrong, how to disappear completely, like spinning plates...

4) future sound of london - papua new guinea, we have explosive, lifeforms.

5) i just downloaded hallelujah by jeff buckley...cant say im that thrilled by it. great lyrics though. very nice gospel tinge.

6) i also just downloaded politik by coldplay. its like...yellow, but pollished. few chord progressions, but that doesnt mean its a bad thing. i dunno, its not nearly as good as people made it sound to be, but it certainly isnt bad.

7) sigur ros - olsen olsen

thats about it for now.

I remember hearing a Silverchair interview thing when they were on Rockline and this is the one song I heard. It completely blew me away. The voice is just amazing. I don't know much about the band or the rest of their music though. I'll have to look into it.....
