I just saw this tiny report in my local paper:

TORRENTIAL RAINS DEADLY IN MALI
Torrential rains in this west African nation have killed scores and caused heavy property damage, authorities said Monday, warning of worse to come if the Niger River spills its banks. More than 180 homes in Timbuktu have collapsed.

Let's hope that Sula and her new friends are all ok.

I live near the Niger River on the other end of the country and so far, everything is fine. It is nearing the end of rainy season and although it doesn't rain every day, when it does rain it is usually super powerful and pretty quick.

Anyways, thanks so much for thinking of me and for keeping me in your prayers in general. I miss you all! But I love being here in Africa.
