I have an uncle named Bob (Robert) and his wife is Bobbie (Roberta).
 but see, that's my point. their legal names are robert and roberta. oh well, i'm just a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to working on my flight manifests.

Flight manifest? :slant:

 yeah, a big part of what i do at my job is working on flight manifests for flights we book for out "high rollers"

someone's gotta make sure the names of the people we book get to the people at the airport

You work at a casino, huh?

 My sister in law thought they were a gay couple when she first heard their names.
 that is pretty funny. the closest thing like that in my family is i have an aunt pat (patricia) and uncle casey, but his first name is patrick.

The most flexible nickname I've heard is Jake. I've heard it as a nickname for Jacob, John, and Jeff. Also, I've heard it as a real name of someone. So I guess that makes four unique uses.

yeah. i used to work at the casino itself, but now i work at our corporate offices, which is great because my commute has gone down from two hours round trip, to about 10-15 minutes round trip.

Ahh, so you know the people who break kneecaps like in movies like the Oceans movies and the new one 21?

I've only heard it for Jacob. For John, I've heard Jack, though.

lol, why would someone with an already short name (john or jeff) go by an equally short name of jake? that seems kind of silly to me. oh well, to each their own. i get weird looks when i tell people my middle name, so i can't complain about people's names.

my friend's brother goes by jack, but his name is jasper. i'd never heard of that one before either.

:lmao: when i worked on property, i didn't work inside the casino. i only worked at one of the hotels, so unfortunately i didn't get to see anything awesome like that. i wish i had though

i've definitely talked to people who need to have their kneecaps broken though

And now, just as the thread's picking up a bit, I gotta get myself going to band practice. See ya later, people!

I wish I was in a band. Really badly. That's number two on my list behind a lady friend.

I never saw that. :sigh:
 i saw it one time. i kept meaning to go again, but never got around to it. i saw so many movies, both at home on dvd and in theaters last year, and this year i'm phailing miserably. and i was in school last year too! i don't know what my problem this year is. i'm losing focus of everything, i guess.

i've been doing some exploring of the city though :hmm: i went downtown last weekend to see where the river had flooded, and this weekend i'll probably go down to the casinos and look at the ones that closed ~10-15 years ago. yes i know i'm a huge dork.

I can top you all for bad names, I suspect. One of the last names in my family - and fortunately not my own! - is Cockburn.

Pronounced "co-burn".

So take THAT, "Bob and Bobbie".

I'd prefer to be in a band than have, as you put it, "a lady friend" right now.

Have fun.

I really should be working. I've been wasting my days and tonight's a write-off productivity-wise thanks to U2 3D.
