Ryan Adams Broke His Wrist

Awwwwwww...

This was posted at the board last night:

Ryan's wrist is very broken. It has been temporarily reset until he can see a specialist tomorrow in London. It is still up in the air as to how bad it is but in a best case scenario it is a fairly clean break and can heal without surgery. Shows for the rest of Europe will be postponed until the Doc gives a time when they can be rescheduled. Ryan feels terribly about all of this especially because he fell on one of the few nights he was sober. He and the band were prepared and excited to finish the shows but the Doctors say no way. Probably about six weeks before he can get the cast off.

From the official site:

Ryan's European Tour has been cancelled, we will have more information next week.

Ryan's condition 1/22:

This evening in Liverpool at the Royal Court Theatre during the last song of the set Ryan fell off the end of the stage (6 foot drop) and broke his left wrist. He was looking up while singing and did not see the edge of the stage. He was taken to a hospital in Liverpool where he will stay overnight. They will set it in the morning and go to directly to London to see a specialist.
There is no more information at this time. We will give you more information as we get it."

RYAN ADAMS has suffered a suspected broken wrist after falling off stage in LIVERPOOL last night (January 22).

The singer was playing a show at the Liverpool Royal Court when the incident happened. Fans at the show say Adams fell six feet towards the end of the set. He tried to continue, but was unable to because of the pain.

He was later taken to the nearby Royal Liverpool Hospital for treatment. He will see a specialist today in London.

A fan at the show told NME.COM: "After one hour 40 minutes Ryan was not about to stop.....until he fell off the front of the stage that is, mid song. The band carried on and finished the song with Ryan being helped up onto the stage and then walking straight off. At the end of the song, his drummer announced that Ryan had broken his wrist and it would probably be their last show for a while. "

A statement on his official website reads: ?This evening in Liverpool at the Royal Court Theatre during the last song of the set Ryan fell off the end of the stage (6 foot drop) and broke his left wrist. He was looking up while singing and did not see the edge of the stage. He was taken to a hospital in Liverpool where he will stay overnight. They will set it in the morning and go to directly to London to see a specialist. There is no more information at this time. We will give you more information as we get it.?

It?s unclear how the rest of the tour will be affected. NME.COM understands the rest of the European tour, including UK shows, are all in serious doubt.

Ya know, I love him but that was the first thing I thought of--he must have been loaded! Guess not...hope he's on the mend soon. Hey this gives him plenty of time to cruise grocery stores with me....:sexywink:

That'll teach him to do something stupid like go out in public sober.

I've broken a wrist and an ankle. Yes, I agree it is hard at first to put on all your clothes with a busted wrist. As for the ankle, showering proved very difficult.

Poor Ryan...actually poor me. Will I ever, ever see you perform??

his hair looks like my high school frisbee coach's hair (i don't know if he's still got it dyed though)

that third arm is scary.

 i don't think so since just a club sport, not a varsity sport at colleges or anything. it's huge where i went to high school though. HUGE. the only sport with more people is track.

and it's not 'frisbee' it's ultimate. with a capital U, even.

Also...

"my hand is not attached to my body at the wrist anymore. i saw a specialist in the u.k. i may lose 20% mobility in my wrist and may suffer chronic arthritis for the rest of my life in my hand.

i am home in nyc and i go in for more x-rays tomorrow. they have to decide if they are going to wire it together with rods or not. its very sad and i am worried."
