I've already expounded at length on the topic of Rolling Stone magazine so I won't do it again. Suffice to say that it is on a long downward spiral.

As for Q, I like some of their feature articles but find their reviews very smart-arse and lacking in thought, not to mention totally beholden to the trends of the month (eg. if rock is 'dead', then slam the rock albums)

Very true. I rarely pay attention to Q's reviews, many of them seem too busy showing off the reviewer's wit and barbs instead of actually talking about music. At least they're not as bad as NME.

I was just offered a special deal on Rolling Stone through my credit card company - 10 issues for $5. Years ago I would have jumped at the chance, but RS is so awful now I threw my order form in the garbage.

Sad but true, used to be a respectful magazine.
