So I'm a rambly sort myself.

Now, TMI time. I need to go to the toilet. I expect when I get back, I'll be way behind and totally fucked when it comes to keeping up with this thread.
Sorry about that. I love a good long discussion.

Don't worry baby, it's gonna be all right. Uncertainty can be a guiding light...

The probably would have been the NSync of the 80s, in that they were cool for a while, and most likely Bono would've gone on to do his own thing, Edge would've had a slightly less successful solo career, and Larry and Adam would whore themselves off to movies and childrens shows.

(okay, that last line was kind of rude)
You can blame my dad for dubbing Numb "Irish Boy Rap."
When we first got my iPod, I put all my U2 CDs on there and he wanted to hear how the sound was on it. And my shuffle just happened to pick Numb. He had never heard it before, so he was like, "Wtf is this shit? That's not Bono."
I had to tell him it was Edge and he started saying it sounded like Edge was rapping. So it got the name Irish Boy Rap.

Regarding EAA: Never heard it, so I really don't know, but I've heard little to no praise for it, so I am definitely not interested at all and have a feeling I'll want 3-5 mins (?) of my life back if I listen to it.

Ok, I haven't heard EAA since the first time I listened to Passengers all the way through (incidentally the ONLY time I listened to Passengers all the way though) You guys are tempting me into listening again.

Oh that's more positive than what I was thinking. I imagine they'd be forever remembered as an example of fucking up at the most important moment. Edge would become a mad scientist, Adam a junkie, Bono a drunk, and Larry wouldn't change.

this is a possibility too. I just always imagine that Edge and Bono could be successful if the band were to break up.

Then I'll take no U2 then.

I would not miss One, So Cruel, TTTYAATW, Ultra Violet, or ZooTV's static, terrible setlists one bit.

Thou shalt reconnect!

Do you want me to send you the dub mix of Wire and the unreleased instrumental Flicker And Fade? Or do you not really feel the need to struggle through dialup's slow shittiness for them?

I'll agree with you on that one. That tour was begging for setlist shake ups honestly. What an opportunity for it too! I mean they WERE trying to be all experimental weren't they?

Best critique of EAA ever!
