One of the proudest franchises in Major League Baseball has lost two of the really great guys in the game in Jack Buck and Darryl Kile. As a lifelong diehard St. Louis Cardinals fan, you always knew it was summer when you heard Jack Buck's unmistakable voice coming over the radio to call another season of Cardinal baseball. Hundreds of thousands of people across Missouri, Illinois, Iowa,and Arkansas listened to Mr. Buck, his son Joe, and Mike Shannon call the action at Busch Stadium on 1120 AM KMOX. Jack is gone now, and less than a week later, so is 33 year old Darryl Kile. Kile was one of my favorite Cardinals, and also their fiercest competitor. Cardinal Nation is grieving now, but our sorrow is nothing compared to that of the Buck and Kile families. Let's keep both of these families in our thoughts and prayers.
