all i really download now are videos anyway. i'd say for every 10 music videos i download, i maybe grab one mp3. i wouldn't say it's so illegal to download music videos, especially given they're so hard to see on television now.

yes, the problem is that the music industry is worried that it will hurt sales because no one is buying their crappy excuses for bands' albums. the internet gives people access to lesser known stuff, and you might buy something that isn't released in this country, or music from a small indie label. that would be bad.

and it's a hell of a lot easier to find stuff you wouldn't hear otherwise, of course, recently becoming a bigger and bigger bad religion fan (see avatar, sig, and journal if you don't believe me), literally in the last half hour i've been able to read a few reviews on greg graffin's solo album, "american lesion," download a few tracks, determine that i love it. i could order it off amazon.com for 13 bucks (more with s&h)if i had a credit card (instead i'll be making a trip to the record shop after frisbee practice tomorrow to spend money that i shouldn't be spending on the cd, provided that i can find it).
