Oh, no...

I hope he'll be one of the people who made it out okay.

I know someone who didn't get out.

I know someone who is missing.

My brother was supposed to go to that but his friend forgot to buy tickets.

My mother went to work at the ER at 1:00 in the morning and didn't come home until 4:00 this afternoon. It was horrible. All burn victims.

I have been crying on and off all day. I left work early because I was so angry at the customers lined up at the door while we were grieving for an extra 15 seconds after we were supposed to open the doors. They could all have kissed my ass this morning; there are more important things in life than what's on sale at GapKids. At least they were still alive and could check out the sales. I'm still really pissed off at them.

It hit way too close to home...literally and figuratively. I just can't believe it.
The last I heard, 96 were reported dead and only about 50% of the victims admitted to area hospitals are expected to survive. Say a few extra prayers tonight, if that's what you do.
Thank you.

Also a scary thought is that had this show not been on a weeknight, I might have gone, I've seen Great White twice before and if the show was on a Saturday I might have trekked to RI if I had no other plans.
The footage is completely unsettling.
God be with the victims and their loved ones.
I'm so sorry about your friend. Many more people were hospitalized than killed. Have you called the number available? I'll post it the next time it comes up, and I'll keep him in my thoughts.
The whole event is unsettling. That's scary that you could have been there.

Thank you times infinity!
I'm hoping I misheard the name on the news, but I think I heard it right. I hope she's okay.

to those of you who know people who were there. Hope your friends are safe.

One of my best friends lives in Rhode Island. She's been on AIM, so I know she's okay, but she's been on "away" so I haven't had a chance to talk to her about it yet.

Damn. This is really sad. I just saw an article in the newspaper that listed deadly club fires. Unfortunate.

My prayers to everyone.

It hits home to anyone I think - anyone whose ever been to a small club and knows how hard it is to move when packed.

God this story is horrific.

to everyone

Its scary but if anything we can learn from this. Please make sure when you go to clubs that you look for the closest exit and remember its not always the one you came in. Alot of people are close to emergency exits but take the way they came in instead and die. [the flight attendants on planes are right when they say the closest emergency exit may be behind you]

I've been paying alot more attention to emergency exits after Sept. 11 and this is just a reinforcement of that.

Sorry to you hear about your losses and hang in there in R.I.

It is shocking and tragic.,The loss of life, the suffering of the survivors, the repercussions it will have for future events. I think we've all been in venues where something like this can happen.
I'm very sorry Hewson and Schmeg.
I thought of montyman, I don't thin he comes here anymore and I don't think he'd go see a heavy band. But lots of people do, and the pyrotechics are part of the excitement. It was so rapid. Scary.

Best wishes and thanks to your mom at the ER unit too Schmeg. Burns are particularly painful to deal with. It is amazing what some of people can survive.Good luck.

yes I agree sharky...hopefully some good will come from it as tragic as it is...last night on the news here in Dallas officials were doing unannounced spot checks on local night club safety after the RI disaster...hopefully more lives can be saved in the future

my thoughts and prayers to all the family and friends of those lost

My heart broke when I heard the news about this.

My thoughts are with you. A good friend of mine gave me a prayer box charm and I added you to the list I put inside it for today.

I can totally understand how you felt about people and their priorities since I went through those feelings alot when I found out my dad had cancer over the holiday season. I wanted to scream at these people... "It's just a pair fucking pants!"
