Please vote for the playlist you LIKE THE MOST.

Welcome to the fourth and final match of the second round of the Interference Retro Island Album Game! In this competition, instead of being stranded on a desert island and seeking the best playlist to enjoy while there, we're heading off to Retro Island to savour the best that the punk/new wave genre of the late 70's and 80's has to offer.

For every win, each player will receive three points. If there is a tie, each player gets two points. If a player loses a match but is within three votes of the winner, that player will earn a single point. Current standings will be displayed at the end of each round.

KhanadaRhodes and VintagePunk face off in this match. Below are their playlists.

If you don't know the songs, or wish to hear how each playlist flows, feel free to check out the Desert Island website. :)

A Punk Retrospective
1975 - 1980

I began composing this list by jotting down a few of my favourite songs and artists of the era, and before long I noticed a definite trend - pretty much all of my choices could be encompassed within the years 1975 to 1980. Those years define the genre for me. Within those years you could find the latter phases of proto-punk, the rise of punk in its purest form, and the birth and foundation of post-punk and new wave. What I've attempted to do is to build a list that includes some of the essential artists of this period. Depending on your familiarity with the era, you may know many of these, or just a few. In selecting songs, for the most part, I tried to avoid ones that have been played so often over the years that they're almost a part of our collective pop culture consciousness. Instead, I tried to include lesser known but amazing tracks that casual listeners of or newcomers to this genre might not know as well. I hope that this collection conveys to each of you the energy and excitement of this groundbreaking period in music.

Note: The date at the end of each track indicates the original year of release.

6) Joe Jackson - "I'm the Man" - I'm The Man (3:59) 1979
