I'm not a huge fan of Rent like some people are, but I really enjoyed the movie. I looooved Rosario Dawson as Mimi, much more than I enjoyed the original cast member (although I only heard that one on CD, I didn't see her in the role).

I LOVE RENT! I've seen it 3 or 4 times in the theater.
But the film was REALLY dark. Somehow the musical doesn't come across that dark and depressing in the theater, but on film . . . . the material's darkest depths really came out. I only saw the film once. I don't know if I could take it again.
But I'll go see the musical every chance I get.

I never saw the theater version, just the film one. My friends and I all have the Rent soundtrack from the movie, and we listen to it together.
