This drives me mad especially when the media get it WRONG because of their ignorance. For example:

"Crusty festival faves" The Levellers
"80's synth pop band" Depeche Mode
"Gloomy goth rockers" The Sisters of Mercy :banghead:

I see this in newspapers, on the TV and even in the supposedly "informed" music press. I know not everyone can relate to the bands I've mentioned but I need to rant to some people who will understand just how annoying the media can be.

Ta.

Like how Alice in Chains and Soundgarden were considered metal bands in the early days until Nirvana broke, and some numbnut coined the term "grunge rock" and suddenly AIC and Soundgarden were grunge, cause they were from Seattle.
Makes perfect sense.

i like how you can add the suffix -core to anything and you get an intant-genre

IWasBored, you must love this little recipe:

Mix a little rap w/ a little hard rock and

whalla- nuMetal!

I'd rather chew on tinfoil!

I like reading reviews because it's the only way to find out about interesting new music (since radio nowadays SUCKS)

things that spark my interest usually are just 1 or 2 lines about someone's opinion on an album (can be just about anything), but never have I taken interest into a band because of the label someone stuck on them

so, basically, what I was trying to say is
that I don't really care about labels

Yeah like Avril Lavigne is now considered "contrived-core"
and Limp Bizkit is "suck-core" and Creed is "rip-off-core" :)
