Searched the forum, and noticed there isn't a single thread dedicated to him, which is pretty much the definition of fail.
Besides Short People and I Love LA, which are strong pop tunes with bite in their own right, it's his early 70's albums that like 15 people heard that are really the best of all. "Sail Away" is top 30 all-time material for me, while "12 Songs" and "Good Old Boys" are sheer brilliance in their own right. I love the vignette feel his albums had; filled with songs that never overstay their welcome. And don't get me started on the lyrical content. His wit and taste in subject matter has always impressed me.
The music nerd in me just eats this stuff up. Plus, I like to study to it. If anyone wants some albums, I can hook you up, of course.
