Sixties is still young these days. That's so sad.

We finally got our beautiful painting off the floor today, the nice shelves out of the boxes and onto the walls, and a light hung in the kitched ceiling today. I may never leave my house now, it looks so good!

That may have been part of our inspiration.

We also got a fake plastic palm tree from Pier One and put it in the corner...we got a candle-thing for the fireplace and put some nice pillar candles on it...the living room is all warm and homey now. I wish I didn't have to work tomorrow; I'd just lie on the couch and look around.

I love candles but never use them for fear that the mini fahs will burn down our house

EPCOT is replacing "El Rio Del Tiempo" (aka The Mexican Boat Ride) with some Donald Duck movie about Mexico .

*sniff* We shall never hear the enchanting theme song again. Oh well, as my sister just e-mailed me, "We'll always have "la...la, la, la, la, la, la,...la, la, la, la, la, la"

Warning: This post makes no sense if you've never ridden The Mexican Boat ride.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

I have a really weird thing about the Mexican boat ride...just ask the roomie. Went my family went to Disney in '92, for some reason that was just my FAVORITE ride. When we went for New Years', we had limited time to catch our shuttle back to the hotel, and I made him go on it with me just so I could see what I loved so much about the ride when I was 13. It seemed a lot cheesier, years later, but the kid in me still loved it.

Or maybe it was the wine we had with dinner at the steakhouse in Canada, who knows.

I don't think the fireplace candles will ever be lit because they're not on the candle-holder thing very well, and I would also rather not burn down the house.

I have worked 20 hours in the last two days and I am tired, cranky, and weepy. I think I get to leave on time tomorrow.

Yay, a fellow Mexican boat ride lover!

To be honest, I wasn't too high on it when I was a kid. But as an adult, the cheestastic theme song just made me fall in love . Plus the fact that the film clips used in the ride have never changed, so they were still promoting Mexican tourism circa 1982. And the Aztec film clip people looked like 70s porn stars/Solid Gold dancers . Plus that section where the annoying people tried to sell you stuff. There's so much to love about that ride. And then one day, my friends and I discovered that we could make up any lyrics we wanted to the song and it would fit! Anything can fit with the "la . . . la, la, la, la, la, la" melody .

ex -
"Now, we're getting on a boat
the boat goes pretty slow
it is a Disney boat, oh wait -
there are some plants
and lots of other stuff
and look there is more stuff
this is the coolest riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide."

The level of cheesiness transcended to an awesome level .
