I haven't seen anything nor did I see anyone filming today. I helped out on stage with a Chefs demo at the fair. I was basically the Chefs assistant for anything they needed. There were a lot of other students there from 2 culinary schools but I was there first so I ended up on stage for most of my 3 hour shift. I just walked into school and my Chef came running up to me to say she just saw me on stage on the news! They're taping it at home for me. I better be on again I want to see it!

Al Franken, a MN native, was one of the taste testers. He's really short! I didn't get a chance to speak to him but I did hand him a spoon!

In the middle of our busy morning with the Chefs, my carpool buddy found out her grandma died. She's been seeing a new boy and they text each other all the time. She was on stage in the background not doing much when she noticed she had a message. At least she waited a few minutes until our task was over and we were in the waiting area before she listened to it. She thought it was going to be a message from the boy.

I've never been with anyone other than my own family when someone has found out that a loved one died. It was very awkward. She was hysterical and I'm not good with that sort of thing. I suggested we leave immediately so she could be with her family, or at least leave once our shift was over. She insisted on staying because her grandma lived 2 hours away and her parents were already on their way down to make arrangements. We sat on a bench while she got it all out and then all of a sudden she looks at me and says she was fine and that was that. We finsihed our shift, walked around the fair, and went to class. She only mentioned it one other time today and that was to tell our Chef she needs a day off later in the week for the funeral.

I would have needed to go home if I were her....

Me too. That's not a message I would leave on someone's voicemail, either.

My cable is still out. They were supposed to call me at work and tell me they were coming...they didn't. So they came and left. I screamed at a supervisor who didn't even try to calm me down; she just got snippier and snippier, and the snippier she got the more angry I got, partially because I just want my cable back and because I was screaming at someone about TV, of all things.

Someone is supposed to be by before 8 pm. We'll see.

No cable company yet...come on, Bright House, redeem yourself for me...All I want is to watch the damn Red Sox/Yankees game...

I am calling AT&T U-verse if they are not here by 8.

At 8:01 I called Bright House and talked to someone who told me that the service call to come by 8 pm had not been placed. I started my tirade of "They were supposed to call me at work-" and she cut me off with "Yes, ma'am, I see the notes on your account." So I demanded if that was how "you people" operate, and then told her to have a great night, hung up on her, and called AT&T. On Monday, September 10, we will have the U-verse and save like $25 a month by combining TV and internet and have actual customer service.

AT&T guy: If you ever have a problem, just give us a call!
Meg: Will someone actually come out, unlike my current cable company?!
