Oh yeah............... the plans for tomorrow night are canceled. I think I will go charge stuff (portable dvd player, phone, ipod) and find the candles........(all this hype and preperation will prolly mean that we get nothing, hopefully)

SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF ICE COULD ACCUMULATE ON TOP OF THE SNOW
BY LATE SATURDAY NIGHT. CURRENT INDICATIONS SHOW WIDESPREAD
ACCUMULATIONS OF ICE TOTALING ONE QUARTER TO ONE THIRD OF AN INCH
WILL FALL ON TOP OF THE SNOW...WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS
POSSIBLE.

TRAVEL CONDITIONS WILL DETERIORATE QUICKLY WITH THE ONSET OF THE
ACCUMULATING SNOW...AND MAY BECOME NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE WITH THE
FREEZING RAIN DURING THE EVENING. ICE ACCUMULATIONS WILL END AS
TEMPERATURES RISE ABOVE FREEZING LATE SATURDAY NIGHT...BUT
RESIDUAL ICE ON ROADWAYS AND STRUCTURES WILL LIKELY PERSIST
THROUGH AT LEAST EARLY SUNDAY MORNING.

ICE ACCUMULATIONS SUCH AS THESE MAY CAUSE CONSIDERABLE TREE AND
POWER LINE DAMAGE WITH WIDESPREAD POWER OUTAGES. IN
ADDITION...SOUTHEAST WINDS GUSTING TO 30 MPH WILL FURTHER STRESS
ICE-LADEN STRUCTURES. ICE ACCUMULATIONS WOULD LIKELY BE HIGHEST
AWAY FROM THE WARMER SHORES OF LAKE MICHIGAN. NOW IS THE TIME TO
PREPARE FOR POSSIBLE POWER OUTAGES.

IN ADDITION TO THE WINTRY PRECIPITATION...ELEVATED INSTABILITY
MAY PROMOTE THE DEVELOPMENT OF ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS. ANY
THUNDERSTORMS THAT OCCUR WOULD BRING VERY HEAVY PRECIPITATION.

A WINTER STORM WARNING MEANS SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW...
SLEET...AND ICE ARE EXPECTED. STRONG WINDS WITH GUSTS TO 30 MPH
ARE ALSO EXPECTED...WHICH WILL FURTHER REDUCE VISIBILITIES. THIS
WILL MAKE TRAVEL VERY HAZARDOUS OR IMPOSSIBLE...ESPECIALLY
SATURDAY EVENING

Do NOT volunteer to go in to work on your day off, ESPECIALLY between Thanksgiving and New Year's Day. It's not worth it. You manage to accumulate only bad karma for your good deed.

Sincerely,
A concerned fellow retail veteran

ETA: Your storm warning is scary. Please keep that mess to yourself. Thanks!

I have a job through the end of April, pending the results of my drug test. It pays more than I thought I'd make too! I'm going to be working at one of the top resorts in the Southwest for at least 2 1/2 months and who knows. But at least I don't have to think about where I'm going to end up once school is done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WOO HOO!

Talking to your sister again later?

I haven't talked to anyone all day. My mom is wrapped up in the shower she's having on Sunday for my cousin. Everything is always about my mom so she won't say a positive word for me about this until the shower is done. After that, she'll continue with her what if questions. I might get a positive comment the week before I leave.

My sister has also not said much other than she'll talk to her boyfriend tomorrow. I offered $100 a month plus my own groceries. The kicker on the whole boyfriend thing is from Jan-March, he'll be in Denver for work. He won't be home but my sister might go see him a few times. So basically we'll only be in the house together in April. It's her not him. He lived with his brother for years and still owns a house with the brother up here.

It's always all about my mom and sister. They both ruined a good day for me and now I feel awful about the whole thing. No one at school really cares about someone else's news like this because we all have to do it. I didn't even mention it other than to my Chef and a few friends in class.

I actually haven't spoken to my dad or brother. I'm sure my dad knows by now. He won't say much. Never does. It's ok though. I'm doing what's best for me. This is a huge deal to get into a place like this. It's going to open so many doors for me so I don't really care if no one here thinks it's a big deal. /ARW's sob story.

We think it's a big deal, because we know how much you wanted it

On a completely different note, I got Springsteen tickets .

it is *clicking* outside

The snow has turned into ice pellets and is sounds rather interesting........if it keeps up like this we will lose power.
possible ice accumulations of 3/4 of an inch and then it getting windy............

I just put in a 9 hour day in my kitchen. I made mini carrot cakes with cream cheese frosting topped with mini marzipan carrots. Mini chocolate mousse tarts, mini fruit tarts, cream puffs with pastry cream, 4 different kinds of truffles, and mini chocolate mint cupcakes. The only thing I had done before this morning was I baked up the mini carrot cakes yesterday and the puffs for the cream puffs but that was it.

I still have to clean up

I just shoveled a driveways worth of slop I like shoveling snow, slop not so much.
There is not one part of my body that does not ache............it is a good, feeling of accomplishment ache, but a ache none the less.
No Packer game to watch.........and I rolled over and hit record on the remote and accidentally recorded over Bruuuce and Van Morrison who were both on PBS this past week
