Random question about REM video "Everybody Hurts"

u know at the end of EVerybody hurts, when eveyone gets out their cars, and then they end with documentary footage of sum disaster or something? What is that about? is that sum indident that really happened? what happened?

If you had to drive in Atlanta traffic, trust me, you'd get out and walk too.

It's a gorgeous video filmed in my home town of San Antonio, TX. I got to watch the filming of it. They took a part of an intersextention of a highway that hadn't been open yet and filmed it there.

Basically the video is a comentary on everyday ordinary life and it's anxieties. Don't let them take you over. A traffic jam was a beautiful analogy to use. Everyone has been stuck in one, and you never know what the person next to you is thinking.

And then they step out the cars. They all realize they have the same problems. Even REM, they are all human and suffer the same problems. It's a song of empathy.
