Valentine's Day must be the worst day for Facebook status updates. Can anyone think of a worse one? People falling over themselves to write essays about how their bf/gf surprised them with a bouquet of roses, single people whinging, people in relationships whinging, forever alone memes, people complaining about the commercialisation of the day, people saying you should express love every day of the year not just one, less than symbols with 3s next to them, people passing judgement on other people's relationships...

How long does it take a hydrogen bomb to travel from Utah to Buttfuck, Australia? I expect one of Cobbo's upcoming posts to end mid-sentence

iTunes used to default to "network sharing" years back. I'd bring my portable hard drive to work every day, and essentially have my entire music collection showing to my entire company, and theirs to me. I stopped doing it when I realized people had used a program to transfer over much of my music collection to their computers without me knowing.

Yeah, I'm a douche about that stuff in real life too.

Election day was pretty brutal here. Entertaining and horrifying.

Being in Utah, I get tons and tons of religious updates. Those are the ones that annoy me the most. Even in my most religious days, I can't imagine I'd have ever thought that was an appropriate forum for that sort of thing. Of course, Facebook didn't exist back then, so we'll never know.

Deap Vally are playing here in April. Looks like it'll be about $38 or so. I think I'll go. One of them (the blonde one) looks hot as. I'll meet them afterwards and ask them how close they are to the moustachioed mid-40s tubing LA hipster filmmaker whose name appears frequently in 2000s U2 songs.

Ordered Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds tickets for his show here (in November). The special pre-sale was a breeze.
Finally seeing him, already looking forward to it.

:hyper:

That was The Monster Mash for this beautiful Valentines Day!

Why did you pick that song anyway?

Well you know, its a bunch of monsters, getting together, having a good time, keeping their evil in check!

You put in the wrong tape didnt you?

Why are you doing this to me?

Enjoy.

They should be in top form after their Coachella gig.

I have my last ever university exam in four hours. One more essay after that and I'm done with uni. I joined this site in year 9. Time flies.

At high school they told us uni would be the best years of our lives. I thought it was going to be like American Pie. Three and a half years on and the most fun I've had remains the pub crawl night during orientation week in first year. I've made no good friends - I've got some I chat with on Facebook, but none I'll call up to go out for beers with or anything like that - and aside from a few journalism classes where I had good debates, my best memories of uni are probably going to be driving to and from the place listening to music. (I fell in love with Kaputt doing that.) That's pretty sad. I've probably only got myself to blame though. When I started uni I was still attached to my group of friends, the group who considered things like joining clubs/societies or doing cool extracurricular stuff at uni as lame. I grew out of the phase about two years ago, but it was too late, as uni went on the backburner as I focused on my full-time job. Oh well. Maybe I'll come back later on as one of those annoying mature-age students and study Italian again.

Anyway, better get to studying.
Good post.

I'm now in the same situation you were. Most of my high school friends study at the same university so that's made me lazy to find new friends. It also doesn't help that I'm not the most social person and that my schedule is almost completely filled with classes. I'm still enjoying myself at the moment though.

How freaking good was Serpents by Sharon Van Etten last year? Such a cool song.

This time, instead of his conscience, he'll be in dialogue with his own asshole.

When the fuck is Earl's album coming out?
