Today, I talked to a guy that had absolutely no grasp of how cable services worked. He hadn't paid his bill since June and didn't think he had to because he had a six-month promotion and he thought we would automatically just cancel his account at the end of it. Also, for the first half of the call, even though I said I was from Comcast, he thought I was his probation officer. Never have I so badly wanted to note an account "Please cancel services immediately, customer is obviously retarded."

God, I hate my job. I need some musics to make this day go away.

I try my best to limit my contact with individuals that have probation officers and with individuals who refer to any medication they're taking as their 'meds'

Just bought For Emma Forever Ago, Takes a Nation of Millions... and Go Back to Where You Came From, a stunning documentary about refugees and asylum seekers.

Also, when you preorder something, you should receive it on the same day it comes out in stores right? I preordered the deluxe version of Watch the Throne last week, and though it hasn't arrived yet, it's in the stores, for $3 cheaper than I paid for it. Not at all happy with JB Hifi at the moment.

I love Caught, Can We Get A Witness? Such high energy from the group, and justifies Flavor Flav.

I've never heard any Public Enemy... except for a song they did with Cube I'm forgetting. Looking forward to hearing it. Also gotta get a Big Daddy Kane album, going to see him in a few months, so if anyone knows the one/s to get, let me know...

oh god. the closest i had to anything like that was at an old job of mine for a casino. this guy so should've been gaming prohibited (meaning he legally couldn't set foot in the casino, it's basically for those either the company has determined is a gambling addict or they asked to have themselves marked as such). he was...not all there. when he'd call to make reservations he'd basically tell us he spent all his government money on gambling, etc.

i will never work in a call centre ever again, it's too soul-sucking.

There are exactly 34 minutes until winter here officially ends, so I'm very fucking well. I hate winter. Cannot wait for my yearly tradition of blasting Here Comes the Sun on a really nice day.

I'm going to make myself a bourbon and coke, or scotch and coke, or one of the other bottles I got for my 21st and coke, and listen to For Emma Forever Ago as I read along with the lyric booklet.

How is every one doing on this fine winter morning?

It is a bit nippy this morning, isn't it? I'm currently huddled under a blanket.....I could close the window, but then I'd have to get up...

EDIT: I just saw the high for today. My God, how is 88 even possible with a morning like this?

I quite like For Emma. I think at its best it recalls a bit of Nick Drake, who really laid the template for these introspective, down-on-the-world, acoustic albums. The Wolves & re: stacks are definitely my favourite tracks. Will listen to the new one soon.

I've tried to listen to Circuital too but each time Victory Dance has been a real slog and I haven't made it to the end of track one. Might give Z a go first.

How novel.

What's your number? I'll call you when I do it. We can sing it together.

Wait, is Circuital the first My Morning Jacket album you've ever heard? Seriously man, stop listening to new albums first. You make terrible choices.

Agreed.

That Jack White/ICP collab is funny. I watched the preview video, and it's pretty obviously just done for a laugh.

Also, the first lines that one of the ICP dudes says is:

Mozart!
Dope for the most part!

Hey, we had layoffs at my job yesterday too. It was extremely depressing, I ate extremely unhealthy food last night to "feel better".

I have a vague feeling this is a George Carlin quote (at least the second half). If it's also an honest statement, well, it's not the first nor the last time I will look like a jackass in RMT.

This guy was just like that. Maybe he moved to Washington.

I can't get out. I've tried. The closest I came to it was last summer when I was the assistant project manager. At least when I was on the phone, it was my own decision. I've worked in call centers for 6 goddamn years and it's done nothing but drive me up the fucking wall. I need a degree to try to get out. Well, I'd need to go back to school. And I don't make enough at my shitty job to pay for tuition, but according to the government, I make too much to qualify for grants. I'm stuck where I am and I have absolutely no interest in doing this for the rest of my life. I don't know what to do. I don't want to be paying student loans for the rest of my life either, but if I had a job that didn't strangle the life out of me, it might not be so bad.
