I'm really feeling like a tool right now for my borderline obsessive collecting, as I bought the two-disc UF reissue just for the sake of lining it up with the others on the shelf and despite already having the three-disc version. I guess that the $10 price tag was a bargain, though.

Good call. I'm gonna get on that shit. I guarantee Mama Peef Dawg has some of that around here, because she is worst-case-scenario-crazy and has literally everything.

I usually apply sunscreen (I'm fucking Irish, you have to), and I usually don't feel the effects of sunburn even when I get it. But today was bad. I was outside for about six straight hours and never lotioned up because I thought I would be out for a much shorter time than that. Feeling a bit of sting in the arms and legs for the moment.

I've always thought of Philly as being a lot like Cleveland in terms of weather: one genuinely sunny day every two months or so. But I really have no basis for saying that.

Same. I was both upset and relieved that the AB remaster reissue didn't "match."

Of course, I ended up buying it twice anyway, the box set and then the high-rez download.

Days like today are why we PNW people put up with the constantly overcast winters. Absolutely gorgeous.

Yesssss. I went to the beach in my neighborhood, but only stayed about an hour because even with that glorious warm sun, the wind was cool enough to keep me covered in goose bumps. Bah.

Yeah, everyone I have ever known with Northwest roots speaks very highly of it. I really need to visit someday.

yes, you really, really do. Come in the summer. After the 4th of July, because that's when things (usually) magically turn around. Although this has been a stellar spring, compared to the last two years (i.e., we actually have one).

Lately I've wanted to go to Oregon more than anything else in the entire world.

I've liked what I've seen (basically just Portland and the coast). I really want to take a weekend and drive along the border and the Columbia River, as I hear how gorgeous it is. Plus, Lewis & Clark junk.

I just feel like I would really like the PNW. I've never been there, so I can't base this in reality, it's just a gut instinct.

It's even better if you love cloudy winter days, too. And it's going to be even nicer tomorrow!

...That said, I was inside this weekend recuperating me foot. Luckily I was only on crutches for a week, but I still need to take it easy. This is exactly the best weather for a run around Green Lake, so usually I'd be on that.

Follow your instincts.

I don't know about Philly, but if you'd done that anywhere here you would soon be in a world of hurt.
god yes. in the states i could be out at a pool or beach all day and maybe put on sunscreen once (once i get in the water i don't like to get out, hi i'm six). i'll get maybe a little pink on the cheeks at worst. in nz though? i was like oh i never get burnt. i was outside for i think two hours tops one afternoon and got red legs and ridiculously dumb looking tan lines (socks) that i still don't think have completely faded after ~18 months.

even for someone like me, if you were outside six hours without any sunscreen on you'd probably have some blisters.

Some nonseasonal Seattle porn hidden under the spoiler tag

It's ridiculous how bad New Zealand is for this - it's even worse than Australia (thanks, hole in the ozone layer). Short walks that I wouldn't even think of getting out sunblock for in Melbourne are guaranteed to end in sunburn anywhere in New Zealand. I don't travel anywhere in New Zealand without sunblock now.

August 2013. The Ring Cycle. We'll be there.

Plus, Lewis & Clark junk.

It seems as if the Fort Clatsop replica has been rebuilt, so you should go to Astoria. They have a bitchin' Coast Guard museum there as well.

Weather here makes sense. But I wasn't in Philly today, I was down the shore, hence why I was outside for so long.

That's definitely true for State College, where I live eight months of the year. But Philly has pretty typical weather. Not overly sunny or rainy or anything, really. Winter's are cold and have some snow. Summers are pretty hot with some humidity. What you'd expect, really.

Duly noted!

Anything with Mt Rainier in it is awesome Seattle porn.

Today I was at Golden Gardens beach/park in Ballard, and it's just luscious (despite all the annoying people and parking nightmare - go early like me, suckas!). Smooth sandy beach, sailboats coming and going from the marina ... oh yeah, and the Olympic mountains being all awesome and junk, right in front of you.

Click for porn!
