Disgusting. After all of the things she’s gone through in the past year, they slam her with shit like that. People are horrible.

Sad to hear about Mac Miller, way too young.

It's not on Youtube so I can't post a link, but I just listened to the song "Return" by Eno/Hyde for the first time in a couple of years and my goodness. One of the most incredible songs ever released.

Pitchfork savaged this because Kanye finally went off the deep end... but I fucking adore this song. It's miles better than anything on ye. So fucking catchy, the clip is hilarious, and it introduced me to a great comic in Adele Givens.

What record do you think is amazing because of how well it holds up, in spite of overwhelming evidence that it shouldn't?

For me, it's blink-182's self-titled. I fucking adore that album, several of its songs (not the meme one) regularly pop into my head out of nowhere, and I've really not found much to fill its void in the years since, Los Campesinos! excepting.

I've listened to Intimacy waaaaaayyy more than A Weekend in the City. Underrated.

I'm seeing Bloc Party play Silent Alarm next month. I can't fucking wait.

Cobbs, you can post about Blink-182 as much as you want on here or Twitter, you're not gonna redeem that sack of shit.

I mean, are we counting the video too, or just the audio? Because the video is classic. The song? I'd gladly take just the first two minutes of I Thought About Killing You over the audio of I Love It. Ghost Town too. And hearing Violent Crimes for the first time the same day I learned I was having a daughter will remain one of the coolest music experiences of my life.

Fuck it, Ye is a good album. I Love It is funny but not something I'll return to by itself.

I'm also happy to report that Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever's debut album is great.

In fact, I can't think of many bands who are considered so lame and uncool now who made as many good songs as blink did.

Dammit is immortal. I was asked to sing that one at a karaoke bar the other night and tore the roof off the place. SoCal loves its turn of the century pop punk.

I've only been a casual Arctic Monkeys fan in the past, but Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino is really fucking good. I am really surprised by how much I enjoyed it. I keep thinking it reminds me of something I've heard and liked in the past, but I have no idea what that is - maybe a bit of Aladdin Sane and Diamond Dogs in there somewhere. Prob in my top five of the year at the moment.

It’s weird because that’s the album we (people generally our or my age) grew up worth, and it made a lot of blink 182 fans.

Personally I don’t look back at that album with much positivity and never did then either. I love Enema of the State and Take Off Your Pants and Jacket. They’re the epitome of blink for me.

But I’m not sure what you mean by “overwhelming evidence it shouldn’t.” Because pitchfork says so?

Dunno if you hate them now or have always hated them, but I would vouch for “sack of shit” ever since Matt Skiba replaced resident alien expert Tom Delonge.

What a great album. And that's definitely the standout track.

Fuck I still need to get this. Was listening to Gang of Youths in the car last night and my friend asked me who it was and I told him I had heard about them through you (he refers to you as "the U2 guy" since he met you when you were in town).

That Kanye song/video combined with the interview on WGCI last week have me back to warming up to him a little bit.

He can still fuck off as far as I'm concerned. I've read excerpts from the interview and I still think he's full of shit; he failed to properly justify any of the contentious things he's said. Not really interested in hearing more of his bullshit.

Watching it is another thing. It was pretty much like no one had ever confronted him to his face about what was so wrong about what he did and the dude completely broke down. Made the words actually feel like they had meaning behind them. The initial words didn't, but when he had that moment, there really seemed like sincerity afterwards.

i managed to trick a hot babe into agreeing to marry me :d

I'm saying yes, purely because I've not gone back to ye after two or three initial spins. I will, but I was hugely disappointed by it even if I didn't think it was a bad record or anything. I Love It on the other hand stuck in my head immediately.

It's comfortably in my top three, battling it out with DJ Koze and A.A.L. for #1. I love it. If you haven't already, you need to listen to Suck it and See. I adore that record.

Link? I am interested.

I listened to the whole discography over the last week. Tranquility Base is easily their best album IMO, and Four out of Five comfortably their best song.
