Both bands like to leave lots of space in their songs. So they are similar.

They are both musical innovators of their time. Both bands were/are not afraid to do something a little different than all the other rock bands that are/were popular. There is the comparison.

It has nothing to do with who is in the band...what "type" of music the play, or the crowds that buy their music and see them live.

It is a good comparison/analogy in my mind.

I think it's obvious Radiohead was influenced by Pink Floyd. I still like Pink Floyd better, but Radiohead is really growing on me recently.
