The one on rateyourmusic looks like an exact replica, sadly enough.

The cover sucks pretty badly.

I want to see the real cover

I hear that Stanley has done some amazing artwork

Gives you a good idea of what it is.

What a spectacular record. Probably the best of the year. I have a hard time letting go of GaGaGaGaGa and Neon Bible, but I must.

In Rainbows > Neon Bible

Agreed.

But I also prefer A Weekend in the City, Sky Blue Sky, and Manipulator (The Fall of Troy) to Neon Bible

This may also be a contender for album of the year for me. I can't say it's better than A Weekend in the City yet just because I've listened to AWITC so many times, but today has been the most perfect day I've ever seen.

You're forgetting Graduation. :tsk:

And Sound of Silver, Sky Blue Sky, and others.

However, In Rainbows trumps them all.

1. Radiohead - In Rainbows
2. Spoon - GaGaGaGaGa
3. Arcade Fire - Neon Bible
4. The Shins - Wincing The Night Away
5. LCD Soundsystem - Sound Of Silver
6. Kanye West - Graduation
7. Wilco - Sky Blue Sky
8. Ryan Adams - Easy Tiger
9. White Stripes - Icky Thump
10. The Good, The Bad, And The Queen - The Good, The Bad, And The Queen

AWITC is a brilliant record thought

Sunday

I need to get Icky Thump. Perhaps in a few weeks when I feel like listening to something besides In Rainbows

i have to say for the most part I've been listening to this album straight through (I've listened to my favourite songs a few extra times)...on the other hand I just got HTTT on Friday and was skipping to my favourite songs by the second or third listen. Great stuff there but also a lot of filler. I don't know if I've listened to the whole thing straight through more than twice. perhaps thrice.

but i feel like i could listen to this forever

I listened to Where I End and You Begin today, my favourite from HTTT, and as beautiful as it is, the soothing vibe I get from it is somehow completely different than the calming vibe I get from In Rainbows, which sounds silly I guess but it's like Where I End and You Begin (and HTTT in general, and Kid A, and Amnesiac, and maybe everything else Radiohead has done ever) is where you go when you want to escape life...In Rainbows is where you go when you want to have a newfound appreciation for life.

except i do kind of escape in the sense that i've done like no work today cuz i cant stop listening to it

Sound of Silver still reigns supreme for me.

Neon Bible and Volta take up the 2nd and 3rd positions.

In Rainbows is somewhere on the level with Sky Blue Sky for now.

Sorry, there hadn't been any pointless binary code spiels here in forever.

That's pretty close to my list at this point, with a few substitutions.

1. In Rainbows (tenatively)
2. Sound of Silver
3. Neon Bible
4. Super Furry Animals--Hey Venus
5. Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga
6. Amy Winehouse--Back to Black (technically last year, but who actually had it then?)
6. Bruce Springsteen--Magic
7. Bjork--Volta
8. Icky Thump
9. Prince--Planet Earth
10. Wilco--Sky Blue Sky

possible contenders:

Travis Morrison Hellfighters--All Y'all
Ween--La Cucaracha (just got this off torrents but it's amazing)
The New Pornographers--Challengers
Arctic Monkeys--Favorite Worst Nightmare
Kings of Leon--Because of the Times
Kanye West--Graduation
Band of Horses--Cease to Begin (just got this too but haven't listened to it yet)
Joni Mitchell--Shine

Ok. Tonight, I knelt at the altar.

I am completely in love with this record.

All I Need and Reckoner are killing me.

Thom's vocals have never sounded better. He's singing from a different place. He sounds like he's singing from a place of strength and confidence, instead of the tortured anti rock star. Example, House of Cards, when he just opens up his throat. And Nude. Amazing vocals!

I love every song. I even like the drums on Videotape.

These are not songs I'll get tired of in a couple of weeks.

It passed the late-night desert highway test tonight with flying colors.

I'm pretty sure there's a triple-negative in there.

So I can't agree nor disagree with that, since I don't know what it means. ;)

I want to see a studio acoustic House of Cards appear some time. Doesn't matter when exactly...just eventually.

The songs deserves it.

"Arpeggi (Ether Festival version)" still pwns everything on this album.

And why the fuck hasn't this band properly recorded "Lift" yet?

you wont like them :p

Dead from the neck up
Guess I'm stuffed, stuffed, stuffed

That is a rather unnerving couplet indeed. :uhoh:

Faust Arp

Well, I do prefer the Lisbon arrangment of Lift, as I prefer the Ether Fest version of Arpeggi. And since I remember hearing the band didn't really like the Lisbon version, I likely won't like it.
