"Help the aged,
one time they were just like you,
drinking, smoking cigs and sniffing glue."

"You take up my time like some cheap magazine."

"My favourite parks are car parks, grass is something you smoke, birds are something you shag, take your 'Year in Provence' and shove it up your arse."

"This is our music from a bachelor's den, the sound of loneliness turned up to ten."

"We'll use the one thing we've got more of, and that's our minds."

"Do you believe there's someone up above, and does he have a timetable directing acts of love?"

"Mother, I can never come home again, cos I seem to have left an important part of my brain somewhere, somewhere in a field in Hampshire."

YES!!! a PULP thread :dancing: :dancing:

one of my new favorite bands.....

"You'll never live like common people,
you'll never do what common people do,
you'll never fail like common people,
you'll never watch your life slide out of view,
and dance and drink and screw,
because there's nothing else to do."

"Oh I want to take you home
I want to give you children
You might be my girlfriend
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah"

Babies

"You can tell me some lies about the good times that you've had
But I've kissed your mother once and now I'm working on your Dad "

Yeah we'd love to hear your story
just as long as it tells us where we are -
that where we are is where we're meant
to be.
Oh come on make it up yourself -
you don't need anybody else.

This bed has seen it all from the first time to the last,
the silences of now and the good times of the past
and it only cost ten pounds from a shop just down the road
- mind you that was seven
years ago and things were very different then.
It didn't get much rest at first,
the headboard banging in the night yeah.
The neighbours didn't dare complain and everything was going right.
Now there's no need to complain
'cos it never makes a sound.
Something beautiful left town and
she doesn't even know its name.

You are the last drink I never should drunk.
You are the body hidden in the trunk.
You are the habit I can't seem to kick.
You are my secrets on the front page every week.
You are the car I never should have bought.
You are the train I never should have caught.
You are the cut that makes me hide my face.
You are the party that makes me feel my age.

Like a car crash I can see but I just can't avoid.
Like a plane I've been told I never should board.
Like a film that's so bad but I've gotta stay til the end.
Let me tell you now,
It's lucky for you that we're friends.

And, perhaps, my favorite (besides the serious one from "Glory Days"), from my favorite Pulp masterpiece

Still you bought a toy that can reach the places he never goes

Also, I really like the way he delivers the line: I said, "In that case, I'll have a rum 'n Coca Cola." The first few times I heard this song, I just couldn't belive how fast he sing-speaks this line, but still stays on beat. It just blew me away.

Jarvis is just The King!!! :applaud:

I can't STOP! How could I forget this one, it's fucking BRILLIANT!!!

Brothers, sisters, can’t you see?
The future’s owned by you and me.
There won’t be fighting in the street.
They think they’ve got us beat,
But revenge is going to be so sweet.

We’re making a move,
We’re making it now.
We’re coming out of the side-lines.
Just put your hands up – it’s a raid yeah.

We want your homes,
We want your lives,
We want the things you wont allow us.
We won’t use guns,
We won’t use bombs,
We’ll use the one thing we’ve got more of
– That’s our minds.

I was gonna post this.

Oh yeah the pirate radio station told us what was going down.
Got the tickets from some mashed up bloke in Camden Town.
Oh and no-one seems to know exactly where it is.
But that's okay 'cause we're all sorted out for E's and wizz.

Well I guess it couldn't last too long.
I came home one day and all her things were gone, I fell asleep inside.
I never heard her come. And then she opened up her wardrobe and I had to get it on.
Oh, listen we were on the bed when you came home, I heard you stop outside the door.
I know you won't believe it's true, I only went with her 'cos she looks like you.

:combust:

You were the first girl at school to get breasts.
Martyn said that yours were the best.
The boys all loved you but I was a mess.
I had to watch them try to get you undressed.

:sexywink:
