Pronunciation

I need some pronunciation help from the Irish or anyone who knows how to pronounce "Liffey"
See, I'm singing this song in chorus "The Little Beggarman" and it contains the line "I'm know along the Liffey from the basin to the zoo" and half the chorus pronounces Liffey with a hard and long 'i' and the other half with a soft 'i', myself included.

ex: Is it with an 'i' sound like in 'tight' or 'fly' ?
Is it an 'i' sound like in 'bit' ?
