On the subject of pointless posts...

I visit another forum quite regularly. Someone decided to start a "pointless posts" thread there. The mods let it carry on until the number of messags reached 26,000. They then deleted the entire thread to free the server.

The scariest part: I went away from the forum for about a week. When I got back, a new "pointless" thread had been started... and they'd managed to post 32,000 messages, in that one thread, over a few days.

The only threads that scare me more than pointless ones are the Christianity vs. Atheism threads in FYM. I posted in one once....

i'll be honest. i don't like them. i think they can really clutter the forum and in the past, sometimes people go way overboard with them. now io, that's another story. io is my favourite forum, most of the times.
