The childhood home of Nirvana singer Kurt Cobain is being auctioned on eBay. Cobain lived in the house at 14 Fleet Street South, Montesano in Washington between the age of 11 and 15 with his father and stepmother.

The sellers of the property, who are blatantly trying to cash in on the Cobain name claim many of Kurt's songs were inspired from his times in the area. "The inspiration for lyrics of many of his songs were derived from life in Montesano during these early teen years" the sales blurb reads.

The current owners also claim "many areas of the house have not been changed since Kurt lived here" and that "Kurt's room has a nautical look. It was fashioned to look like a ship with a rounded door and wood interior as in a Captain's quarters".

The 2 storey house was built in 1908. The reserve price for the sale of the property is $200,000. The value of the house is said to be closer to $60,000.
