A 3rd film in a trilogy that didn't suck!!!!

It was great! Loved it! Fun, adventurous, funny, witty . . . just a great time all around.

Aside from "The Last Crusade", I can't think of a 3rd film that's ended a series so well.

Most last installments of trilogies  (Jedi, Spidey III, X-Men III, Godfather III, Terminator III, and umm, well, Back to the Future III was good, but not great!)

Oh, and Prisoner of Azkaban doesn't count as last in a trilogy!!!!

I just saw it today  Had to change my avatar again!!! That was probably the best one yet, I must say

^I'm not sure who the kid was, but that part made me  (almost...)

I saw it on Friday afternoon and loved it! I own the 1st movie and have watched it many times. I've only seen #2 in the theaters once last year. I think it would have been a good idea to see #2 again before going to see #3. I forgot what happened to Jack and a few other minor character details. Otherwise I thought it was great. I'd love to see it again!

Pirates of the Carribean 3. 3hrs of time wasted. I was bored to tears. The monkey was the only highlight of the film.:|

I thought it was terrible. True, not as bad as the second, but terrible all the same. The script was a mess, while the so called "jokes" were embarrassingly flat.

It pains me to see Johnny Depp, one of Hollywood's greatest actors, on auto pilot. He's wasted the last few years of his career doing this boring, bloated crapfest.

The good thing about it was the CGI. Pretty impressive stuff in places.

The scene at the end was pointless......Agree a lot with Slapnutz...I felt sick hearing Elizabeth's 'freedom' speach:madspit:

Depp was great again as Jack, but if there is a fourth film, the Elizabeth and Will characters need to die, Orlando and Keira were really bad in this film, even compared to the others....I still love Jack though.

I saw it today and actually liked it! I felt it wrapped everything up nicely. There was lots of action which was fun. It is a movie that is better seen on the big screen with all the special effects especially the ocean fight scene toward the end.

I'm not sure who the boy in the beginning was. Why did he have one of the coins?

I heard it made $43 million on Friday alone.

There were some little kids dressed as pirates in the theater which I thought was so cute!

Yea! See, my fiance insists that that boy in the beggining is Will's son that we see at the end because they were both singing and he had one of the coins. That it was a glimpse of the future and he was obviously saved from the hanging in some way and whatnot.

BUT....my argument against that is the fact that while everyone was singing a soldier runs over to Beckett to inform him. So it couldn't be a glimpse into the future because Beckett obviously dies in the battle. Soooooo....who is the stinking kid in the begginging? Baby Jack?? This is driving me nuts!!!

The kid just had a coin, I don't think it was one of the pieces of eight...for a start all the pieces of eight the pirate lords had were bits of junk, not actual coins. The kid was no one really.

Keith was pointless in the film as well...in fact too many of the characters were pointless.

But Beckett had 8 of the coins he collected. The coins made some sort of special call. What baby Will at the end?

I watched it last night. A huge spectacle of how to waste filmmaking resources on junk.

I watched it yesterday and thought the film was very well done. I didn't get the bit at the beginning with all the people lined up to be hung and thought they could have taken it out. The extra plots also tended to be a bit tedious for me, but overall it worked well. Depp, of course, kept the thing interesting, so the 2 hrs 45 mins didn't seem as long as it would have without him.

After the credits ended, there was a snippet which took place 10 years later, showing Elizabeth with a boy who looked about 10 years old (sporting a pirate hat and singing, "Yo ho ho it's a pirate's life for me") and they were waiting on the same island for Will to arrive. I think we can assume that's their son. There were only about 8 people left in the theatre when it came on when we watched it (like last time, when we were the only ones left to see the dog being crowned king of the tribe in the second movie).

Guess that bit passed me in all the other useless plot bits...as Will and others kept asking 'Does he know what he is doing, or does he make it up as he goes along?'....I really think the film makers made it up as they went along.

There was just so much plot dumped on us in this film that was never mentioned in any of the previous films...I mean where did the whole Calypso thing come from? And in the end what purpose did she really have? All she did was make a storm.

Wasn't Jack meant to be an outsider pirate as such? A maverick? Yet in the film we suddenly learn he's a pirate lord? Pirates also have centralised government it seems at Shipwreck Cove...very unpiratey:eyebrow:

Went to see it last night. Loved it, it was very long but Johnny was fantastic and the monkey made me laugh so much. :hyper:

The beginning bit confused me, but i assumed it was the beginning of the all the pirates being hunted down and eliminated by the East India Trading Co. I missed the end bit though ao i don't know.

Now THAT'S what I'm talking about!

I still don't understand how Elizabeth turned him down in the first one. If that had been me he was proposing to, I would have been like "I can't breathe...would you take this corset off for me?" :sexywink:

Aaanyway, I found out what happens with him. I'm still looking forward to seeing it

Another thing I don't get now I think of it....if Chow Yun-Fat's character was one of the original pirate lords that put Calypso into her human form then why the F*CK would have have thought Elizabeth was Calypso??

The only thing I didn't like was the release of Calypso... that whole effect could have been skipped - cut right to the storm and it's more impressive. Other than that,

:lmao: How true.

And as a purely and proudly heterosexual male, I'd still like to say that I have some decent capacity to judge another males attractiveness/hotness.

For example, Johnny Depp = fucking gorgeous
Daniel Craig puting on Tux for the first time in Casino Royale= mangasm

But I simply don't understand the ogling over Orlando Bloom. I mean, I guess he's got a cute look about him. But ?

I can honestly say that I hated the movie. I was really optimistic about it but the plot was all over the place, my friend and I kept on asking eachother what the hell was going on. It was WAY WAY WAY too long. Overall I was really disappointed.
There were a few highlights:
Johnny Depp
Keith Richards
Orlando Bloom
:) The End
