Wow, I thought for sure I'd vote Hey You, but now I'm not so sure. If we were talking about the live version of CN, it would be my winner without hesitation. But the album versions put together...I'm not so sure Numb is a better track (on the album) than Hey You is.

I'll sleep on it, and vote tomorrow.

Hey You

After all this, I realize there isn't anything on here that I find a clear favorite. I like some of the early vote-offs as much as the finalists.

I think The Wall worked best in the live setting.

Which brings me to this question for GibsonGirl. I read somewhere that Waters is sitting on a pro-shot Earl's Court show that he refuses to release, probably because of the infighting. Do you or anyone else know something about this? Or is it just rumor or misinformation?

That is something I'd like to see :)

It's rumoured that he has the tapes hidden under his bed. A joke, obviously, and one that he seems to like bringing out for interviews. There is definitely a pro-shot Earl's Court show out there somewhere. The so-called "problem" with the footage is not related to infighting at all, but rather the lighting. The band, Roger particularly, feel that it's too dark for the viewer to fully gain an appreciation for the show. I disagree based upon some of the footage that has been used in documentaries and such.

YouTube used to have some footage from Happiest Days Of Our Lives. I can't find it, though. If you've got The Wall (movie) on DVD, you can find it there in the extras. Here are some caps I've taken from it:

Now, this is in a documentary from the 80s. They could improve the footage so much with today's technology. I still have hope that it will eventually see a release.

Yeah, I had to vote for Hey You in the end.

Wow, this came down to Hey You and Comfortably Numb? I was never a big fan of Hey You, so I was surprised to see it made it this far. CN is still the obvious choice for best song on the album, so my vote obviously goes to Hey You.

I'm surprised that people on here have the same taste in Pink Floyd as me (despite the complete lack of Radiohead similar taste). Good making Comfortably Numb win as it's my favourite Floyd song (I figured I shouldn't vote before now, though, because I don't know most of these songs... yet).
