Meddle, definitely my favorite Pink Floyd album. I vote for San Tropez.

I really don't listen to this album enough. Seamus is easy here, but I'll have to give the album a play before the next round.

The next series of rounds will be difficult. Here's how I would rank them, for anyone interested.

6. Seamus
5. San Tropez
4. Fearless
3. Pillow of Winds
2. Echoes
1. One of These Days

We're finally getting in to Floyd albums I have an interest in. Horray!

This one is one of my very favorites too. I really like Seamus, but it is the weakest here.

Yes, I really don't find Echoes all that interesting. Every song is good though, Echoes and Seamus included.

It may sound bizarre, but, in my opinion, One of These Days is probably Floyd's third best song. It has a maniacal energy about it that I have never heard in any other piece from Floyd, or, for that matter, any other band.

Kind of feel the same way. I like AHM and Ummagumma but this is one that I actually listen to.

Probably their best album.

Seamus.

And I hope to god Fearless wins this. God, what an amazing song.

I sort of feel like this is Floyd's most sincere and enjoyable album by quite a wide margin actually. They haven't quite yet succumbed to the (IMO) more uninteresting art-rock self-importance of their later albums, but have just passed the equally uninteresting wacky or meandering exploits of previous albums.

Meddle FTMFW.

 That was an excellent fit. My favorite 2001 Space Odyssey vid will always be 2001 + Disorder.

Nice.

Pink Floyd syncs are the best. I loved the Sheep + Saving Private Ryan and The Wall + Alice in Wonderland syncs so much.

The Dark Side of the Moon + Wizard of Oz is still the golden standard though.

If you play any piece of music to any movie, there's bound to be some synchronization. It's simply following the laws of probability.

I rarely get too thrilled about it.

True, but some work alright, some don't, and then there's The Wizard of Oz.

Agreed, in the case of Dark Side and Wizard of Oz.

The fact that Kubrick asked PF to do the soundtrack to 2001 (they contractually couldn't) might mean something here, though. :hmm:

Yeah. Echoes is a good song, and I'd probably rank it second on this album (One Of These Days for the huge fucking win), but I've heard hundreds of better, more interesting epics.

I just gave Seamus a listen as I haven't played it in a very long time. It was even worse than I remembered. :barf:
