So is this album decent? Better than AMLOR?

Do I have the titles right? They're still pretty average.

"Decent" is a good word to describe it. Has some pretty good songs, and it is better than AMLOR for sure. Oh, and the titles are right, as far as I can tell.

Keep Talking is pretty terrible, so that gets my vote.

It's a lot better than AMLOR - the only two songs I skip (when I listen to it, which is rare) are A Great Day for Freedom (boring) and Lost For Words (mediocre). The rest is pretty good though. And the titles are all right, although I can't remember if there should be a question mark at the end of What Do You Want From Me.

Anyways, I voted for A Great Day For Freedom. I predict a final between Marooned and High Hopes.

1. High Hopes
2. Marooned
3. Coming Back to Life
4. Take it Back
5. Keep Talking
6. What Do You Want From Me
7. Wearing the Inside Out
8. Cluster One
9. Poles Apart
10. Lost For Words
11. A Great Day For Freedom

Publius Enigma, FTW.

This is the first Pink Floyd album I ever remember hearing back when I was a wee boy. Thanks Dad.

I have a lot of memories of this one.

I love this album.

I agree with Dave that A Great Day For Freedom should go first. I think the lyrics are terrible, and I don't like Gilmour's voice during parts of it.

I disagree with Lost For Words being his second choice, though. That and High Hopes are my favorites on this.

 Poles Apart is fantastic. And both Marooned and Cluster One have awesome guitar playing, as does much of this record.

Stephen Hawking can do no wrong! :nerd:

It's still a terrible song. And he doesn't fit in there at all.

Just recalled - a few years ago I had a crash whilst drivng my car, and happened to be singing along to Coming Back To Life from this album just before it happened. Maybe I should've voted for it first!:madspit:

...or maybe I shouldnt have driven so fast round that corner in the rain? :hmm:

but you came back to life?

I love that song

This is a very uneven album, but High Hopes is a true masterpiece. There couldn't be a better final song for a band this size.

Keep Talking is terrible, so I vote that one out.

Take It Back, I suppose, as its female vocals irritate me. I really like this album a lot; it's one of my favourite. That said, Cluster One and Marooned never did much for me at all and Wearing The Inside Out is unremarkable in its mundanity, so they'll probably be my targets once Take It Back goes. Otherwise, this album is fantastic. I got into Pink Floyd through a lot of this stuff. Keep Talking, A Great Day For Freedom, Lost For Words, and especially Coming Back To Life and High Hopes are fantastic. I'd like to see High Hopes win.

I don't think it's uneven at all, save for a couple of tracks. I rank this album very highly.

AMLOR is what I would call a very uneven album.

Agreed 100%!

This is one of my top favorite floyd albums!

Poles Apart
Marooned
Take It Back
Coming Back To Life
High Hopes

Wearing The Inside Out is one of my favorites as well. Hearing Rick Wright on lead vocals again after such a long absence was beautiful.

QFTMFT :up::up:

song is kind of sexy too :shifty:

I too am a fan of this album - very melodic and atmospheric. I might have to support "Marooned" for the victory here, but for now "Poles Apart" gets my vote to leave.

I like Wearing too but I think I like it less than the others. I guess I could have voted for Great Day but Wearing would have been next. :slant:
